The LYKKE DRIFTWOOD LONG circular knitting needle set is an interchangeable wooden needle set for knitting projects that call for different needle sizes and circumferences. You attach the tips to the cable that suits your project and knit jumpers and blankets, for example, or work using the Magic Loop method. The set contains 9 pairs of tips from 4.5 to 12 mm, 5 cables in 4 lengths, accessories and a grey case.

The tips are made of grey-washed birch and have a smooth surface that does not snag. Each tip is stamped with both the US and the metric size, so you can quickly find the size you want again.

Which cable suits which project?

The four lengths from 98 to 169 cm are total lengths of cable plus tip. When knitting in the round, the larger the circumference of your piece, the longer the cable should be. With the long cable you can also work using the Magic Loop method, that is, knit small circumferences on a long cable. As the needle range goes up to 12 mm, you can knit with yarn from worsted weight up to chunky yarn for blankets and jumpers.

Assembly and using the accessories

Screw the tip onto the cable and tighten it with the cable key in the hole of the connector. Check the fit from time to time, as a loose connection can come undone while you knit or trap the yarn. Each accessory has its own job:

• Connectors: join two cables to make a longer needle
• Stoppers: secure stitches on the cable when you set pieces aside or put stitches on hold
• End caps: allow you to use the tips as straight needles
• Case: keeps each pair of needles ready in its own compartment with an elastic band
