The LYKKE Driftwood Double-point Set small is a set of double-pointed needles (DPNs) for everything knitted in the round: socks, hats, gloves or sleeves. It contains birch wood DPNs in 8 sizes from 2 to 3.75 mm, and each needle is 15 cm (6 inches) long. The sizes from 2 to 3.75 mm cover the needle sizes that are usual for sock yarn and other fine to medium yarns.

The needles are sorted in a grey case. So you do not have to buy separate sets of DPNs for each project, and you can quickly find the right size again.

What 15 cm needles are suited to

Short needles get in the way less on small circumferences: on socks, glove fingers, thumbs, sleeves or the crown of a hat. The wood grips better than smooth metal, so the stitches do not slip off the needles as easily. This helps especially when you are working with fine, smooth yarn.

Knitting with double-pointed needles

There are 5 needles in the set for each size. Divide the stitches evenly across 4 needles and knit with the fifth. When changing from one needle to the next, pull the first stitch tight so that no ladder forms. Your tension swatch determines which size you use: the needle size on the ball band is only a guide. For yarns thicker than 3.75 mm needle size you will need larger needles.
