Noro Sonata – wool-free knitting yarn made from cotton, viscose and silk

Noro Sonata is a knitting yarn made from 35% cotton, 25% viscose, 20% silk and 20% polyamide. It is wool-free and, according to Noro, is one of the yarns for spring and summer. One ball weighs 100 g and has a length of approx. 360 m. Choose your colour from the options.

The blend of plant fibres, silk and polyamide gives you a yarn for light garments. The polyamide gives the yarn some hold, while silk and viscose add a little sheen. With a length of approx. 360 m per 100 g, you can plan the quantity for shawls, tops or waistcoats using the figure in your pattern.

Working with Sonata

According to the manufacturer, needles of 3.25–3.75 mm (US 3–5) are suitable. For knitting, Noro gives 23–26 stitches over 10 cm, and for crochet 16–20 double crochet stitches over 10 cm. What matters is the tension given in your pattern; the figure on the ball band is only a guide. When knitting, patterns such as rib, cables or lace patterns work well in this yarn, as they show off the structure of the fibres.

Care

On the care symbols, Noro specifies dry cleaning with petroleum solvent only and ironing on a low setting. Follow these symbols, as any other treatment can change the surface of a blend containing silk and viscose.
