Botz 9507 Efeu Liquid Glaze – glossy dark green with black and white effects

Botz 9507 Efeu liquid glaze is a ready-to-use, glossy earthenware glaze in a deep, dark green. Black and white speckles give the opaque surface a lively, flecked texture. You apply it with a brush to bisque-fired ceramics.

The glaze also looks intense on red and black clay. If you like 9507 Efeu, take a look at Botz 9506 Blaue Wolke too: the two glazes are similar.

How to apply the glaze

The glaze is ready to use; you only need to stir it well before applying. If it is too thick, you can thin it with a little water. Brush it onto ceramics that have been bisque-fired at 950 °C or above, and let each coat dry thoroughly. If needed, apply another coat until the surface is evenly covered.

• Leave to dry thoroughly, repeat if needed

Firing and colour effect

Efeu is stable in the range from 1020 to 1060 °C and can be fired up to 1100 °C. Fire within this range so that the glaze develops its glossy surface and effects. As the colour and the speckles depend on the clay and the firing, a test piece made from your own clay will show you beforehand how the glaze looks in your case.
