Ceramic Vario kiln stand – firing aid for glazed baubles and bells

The ceramic kiln stand (Vario stand) is a firing aid for glazed pieces such as baubles, bells and other hollow shapes. It consists of a base with a rod on which your piece sits in the kiln, so the glazed surfaces do not rest on the kiln shelf and no unwanted contact marks form.

The stand is heat-resistant and keeps its shape at high temperatures. You can therefore use it for several firings. Choose the size from the options.

Placing your piece on the stand

Place the stand on the kiln shelf and set the piece on the rod so that it touches only at an unglazed spot, for example the rim of the opening. Glazed surfaces that touch the stand will fuse during firing and are difficult to separate afterwards. Wipe any glaze residue off the rod before you use the stand again, so that it stays clean.
