Rayher fine felting needles – 7 needles for needle felting details

The Rayher fine felting needles (art. no. 5322800) are 7 replacement needles for needle felting. The fine gauge lets you work out small details such as faces, paws or decorative elements, and smooth the surface. Each needle is 78 mm long.

According to Rayher, they are replacement needles for the Rayher felting tool with 7 needles (art. no. 5322700). You can also use them singly in the felting needle handle 5362300, or up to six at a time in the felting needle holder 5362400.

Working with fine felting needles

Place the wool on a mat and push the needle straight in and out. The needle tangles the fibres together as it goes. Do not tilt or bend it in the material, as thin needles break easily. For the basic shape you will usually use a coarser needle. Use the fine needle afterwards for details, small textures and a smooth surface.

Which mat and holder to use

Rayher recommends the brush mat 5322900 or a cut piece of foam 5356500 as a base. They catch the needle tips and protect your work surface. With several needles in the holder 5362400 or the felting tool 5322700 you cover larger areas faster, while a single needle in the handle 5362300 gives you precision.
