Rico Design UV Resin – light-curing casting resin for jewellery and craft projects
Rico Design UV Resin is a light-curing casting resin in a 10 ml bottle for jewellery, pendants and small craft projects. You pour the resin straight from the bottle into transparent moulds. It cures there under a UV lamp or in sunlight, so you need no hardener and nothing to mix. Choose your colour from the options.
Because the resin only cures under light, you can work at your own pace, remove air bubbles and arrange inclusions such as dried flowers, sequins or glitter. The 10 ml size suits small moulds and trying the resin out.
Working with UV Resin
Curing time depends on layer thickness and light source: under a UV lamp the resin cures faster than in daylight, and on an overcast day it takes considerably longer. Expose it to light until the resin has cured all the way through.
- Choose a mould: it must be transparent or translucent so that the light can reach the resin.
- Fill with resin: pour it straight from the bottle into the clean, dry mould.
- Add inclusions: position dried flowers, sequins or glitter now; you can prick air bubbles with a cocktail stick.
- Cure: expose to a UV lamp or sunlight.
- Demould: release the piece only once it has fully cured.
Layer thickness and larger projects
Rico Design recommends a layer thickness of no more than 5 mm. For deeper moulds, pour in several layers and cure each layer separately before pouring the next. This allows the light to penetrate to the bottom each time. A 10 ml bottle does not go far for larger castings; it suits brooches, earrings, pendants or beads.

IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing.
