MIYUKI Delica Beads 11/0 – cylindrical glass beads for precise patterns

MIYUKI Delica Beads 11/0 are Japanese cylindrical glass beads for bead weaving, peyote, brick stitch, loom work and embroidery. Their uniform cylindrical shape and smooth surface let the beads sit tightly edge to edge, giving clean, almost fabric-like patterns.

Working with Delica beads

Because Delicas are cylindrical and all the same height, they fit together without gaps when woven. This makes grid patterns from bead charts easy to work, for example for bracelets, earrings or appliqués. With a hole of approx. 0.8 mm, you can pass the thread through the same bead several times, for instance to reinforce a row or to weave in thread ends. Use a fine beading needle and a thread that still passes comfortably through the hole after several passes.

Method and technique

For peyote and brick stitch, thread the beads on one at a time in the order of your chart. For loom weaving, place them between the warp threads. Work on a surface with a raised edge or on a bead mat so the small beads do not roll away.
