Kreul Metallic Mix Gilding Flakes – shimmering flakes for gilding

Kreul Metallic Mix gilding flakes are made of finely flaked metal leaf and are used for gilding and decorating with high-gloss metallic effects. The 2 g pack covers approx. 0.33 m². Because the flakes are a mix of shimmering metallic shades, surfaces look lively rather than evenly one colour.

The flakes belong to Kreul's Home Design ART DECO range and can be used on many surfaces, for example wood, glass, paper, canvas, ceramics, porcelain, terracotta, fully dried concrete, metal and leather.

Gilding with the flakes

First apply a thin, even coat of gilding size (Anlegemilch) to the clean surface and leave it to become tacky following the instructions on the product. Then lay the flakes on and press them down with a soft brush. Once dry, gently brush off any excess flakes. The flakes are very light, so work away from any draught.

Protecting the gilded surface

Leave gilded objects to dry through for several days. To protect against corrosion, then seal them with Kreul protective varnish for metal leaf or with Zapon lacquer. This also applies to outdoor decoration and to surfaces such as concrete, plaster, terracotta and clay.
