Kreul Silver Metal Leaf Flakes – finely flaked, for finishing decor and canvas

Kreul Silver Metal Leaf Flakes (art. no. 99432) from the Home Design ART DECO range are finely flaked metal leaf in silver. You can use them to embellish surfaces such as canvases or decorative items. "Silver" refers to the colour here: this is metal leaf, not genuine silver leaf.

The flakes can be used on many surfaces: wood, glass, paper, canvas, cardboard, polystyrene, plastic, wax, ceramics, porcelain, terracotta, foil, metal, stone and leather, as well as fully dried concrete. Coverage is approx. 0.33 m². Instructions are included.

Applying the flakes

The flakes are applied to the object with Kreul gilding size. The gilding size is essential and is not included. The surface must be clean, dust-free and grease-free, otherwise the flakes will not adhere evenly.

• Clean the surface and leave it to dry thoroughly
• Apply the gilding size evenly to the area you want to cover
• Place the flakes on the prepared area and press them down, then remove any excess flakes
• Follow the drying times for the gilding size given in the enclosed instructions

Sealing and protection

For indoor use, seal the flakes with protective varnish; for outdoor use, use zapon varnish. Leave gilded objects to dry for several days beforehand, then overcoat them with Kreul protective varnish for metal leaf as protection against corrosion. Zapon varnish is also recommended for concrete, plaster, terracotta and clay.
