Kreul Gold Metal Leaf Flakes – gold-coloured flakes for finishing surfaces

Kreul gold metal leaf flakes (art. no. 99431) are finely flaked, gold-coloured metal flakes from the Home Design ART DECO range. You can use them to give decorative objects, canvases, wood, glass or ceramics a shimmering metallic finish. "Gold" describes the colour here: this is metal leaf, not genuine gold leaf.

The 2 g cover approx. 0.33 m². The flakes can be laid on unevenly, so you can cover only part of a surface and create accents. Instructions are included. Kreul also offers the flakes in silver and copper.

Applying the flakes

The flakes do not stick on their own; you need Kreul gilding size as the adhesive. Here is how to proceed:

• Make sure the surface is clean, dust-free and grease-free.
• Apply the gilding size evenly in a thin layer and leave it to become tacky, following the enclosed instructions.
• Lay the flakes on with a soft brush and press them down; brush off any excess.
• Leave the object to dry through for several days.

Protecting and sealing

Metal leaf tarnishes in the air if left unprotected. Varnish the fully dried surface to protect it from corrosion: indoors with Kreul protective varnish for metal leaf, outdoors with zapon lacquer. Gilding size and varnish are not included.
