Efco Real Gold Leaf 80 × 80 mm, 10 Sheets

Efco Real Gold Leaf – 10 Sheets for Gilding with Gilding Size

The Efco real gold leaf measures 80 × 80 mm, and the pack contains 10 sheets. You can use it to gild small to medium areas, edges and details, for example on frames, wooden figures, paper projects or decorative objects.

The gold leaf is applied with a thin coat of gilding size. It suits many surfaces, for example paper, card, wood, glass and porcelain. With 10 sheets you can gild several pieces or cover a larger piece sheet by sheet.

Gilding with Gold Leaf

Gold leaf is extremely thin and tears or crumples at the slightest draught or when touched with your fingers. Work in a draught-free place, do not touch the leaf with your fingers and use a soft brush.

• Prepare the surface so that it is clean, dry and as smooth as possible.
• Apply the gilding size thinly and evenly to the areas that are to be gilded.
• Leave the gilding size to dry until tacky, according to the manufacturer, then lay the gold leaf on carefully.
• Press down gently with the soft brush and brush off any overhanging excess.
• Fill any gaps with small pieces of gold.
