URSUS Galaxy Fuse Bead Set – space designs made from fuse beads

The URSUS Galaxy fuse bead set is a craft kit for making space designs from fuse beads. It contains 2,000 colourful midi beads, 5 mm in diameter, a transparent pegboard, a pair of tweezers, templates and ironing paper for fixing. All you need in addition is an iron.

The templates show a rocket, a planet, a spaceship and a little Martian. Because the pegboard is transparent, you slide the template underneath and copy it bead by bead, colour by colour. The tweezers let you place single beads precisely and help develop fine motor skills.

Making your fuse bead picture

Place the template under the transparent board and put the beads on the pegs one at a time. It is best to start with the outline and then fill in the areas. When the design is finished, cover it with the ironing paper and iron it carefully with the iron on a no-steam setting until the beads fuse together. The iron gets hot, so it is best for an adult to do the ironing.

• Place the beads on the board following the template
• Lay the ironing paper on top and iron evenly in circular movements
• Leave to cool and lift the picture off the board
• Turn the picture over and briefly iron the back again so that all the beads are firmly joined

Good to know

The midi beads are 5 mm in diameter. Sort the colours into small bowls before you start, so you can find the right bead more quickly. The tweezers also pick up single beads in tight spots, for example the details on the little Martian.
