Lang Yarns ENYA – soft alpaca yarn for autumn and winter

ENYA by Lang Yarns is a knitting yarn made from 63% alpaca and 37% polyamide, for jumpers, cardigans and other autumn and winter projects. According to the manufacturer, the alpaca content gives a soft handle and cosy warmth. The polyamide adds extra stability to the yarn. Each ball weighs 50 g and has a length of approx. 150 m, so you can work out how much you need for your project.

What to knit with ENYA

With a needle size of 5 to 5.5 mm and a tension of 17 stitches × 25 rows, your knitting grows quickly. This makes ENYA well suited to larger pieces such as jumpers, cardigans or knitted dresses, and also to scarves, hats and arm warmers. Alpaca sits soft against the skin, and the polyamide makes the yarn more hard-wearing. For care, use a detergent for delicates without fabric softener, according to the manufacturer. What matters is the tension given in your pattern; the figure on the ball band is only a guide.

Yarn quantities

As a rough guide, the manufacturer gives the amount needed for a jumper. The exact quantity depends on the design, stitch pattern and fit, so allow an extra ball in reserve and buy everything from the same dye lot to avoid colour differences.
