Lang Yarns WOOLADDICTS HONOR – fluffy alpaca and merino yarn

HONOR from the WOOLADDICTS range by Lang Yarns is a fluffy yarn made from 50 % suri alpaca and 50 % extrafine merino wool. It knits up into jumpers, cardigans and accessories for the cold season. The blend of two natural fibres gives a soft, full stitch definition with a subtle halo that feels pleasant against the skin.

Each ball weighs 50 g and has a length of approx. 100 m. The yarn is worsted/aran weight and is knitted with 5.5–6 mm needles. Choose your colour from the options.

What to knit with HONOR

The combination of alpaca and merino makes the yarn soft and warm. The fluffy surface gives knitted pieces a light halo without hiding the stitch definition. With 5.5–6 mm needles you get a loose yet compact fabric. It works up quickly and suits jumpers, cardigans, hats, scarves and other winter pieces. Because of the fluffiness, areas worked in stocking stitch or simple textured patterns look best, while very fine lace patterns tend to get lost in the halo.

Quantity and tension

As a guide, Lang Yarns gives approx. 400 g for a women's size M, approx. 550 g for a men's size M and approx. 300 g for a child (10 years). At 50 g per ball, that is about 8, 11 and 6 balls respectively. The actual yarn requirement depends on the design, so go by the quantity given in your pattern. The ball band gives 17 stitches and 22 rows over 10 × 10 cm. What matters is the tension given in your pattern; the figure on the ball band is only a guide. Buy the whole quantity in one go if possible, so that the colour stays even.

Care
