Faber-Castell AMBITION fountain pen – black precious resin with medium nib

The Faber-Castell AMBITION is a black fountain pen for everyday use and special occasions. The round barrel is made of brushed precious resin, while the cap, front section and end piece are made of high-gloss chrome-plated metal. The cap can be posted on the end of the pen, and the metal clip is spring-loaded. The pen is suitable for left- and right-handed writers.

The stainless steel nib is a medium (M). It writes a medium line width that suits normal handwriting on everyday paper and is neither very fine nor noticeably broad.

Ink and filling

The AMBITION works with a cartridge or converter system and is refillable. Standard cartridges fit. With a converter, you fill ink from a bottle, so you can choose from a wider range of colours and ink types. If you change ink type, rinse the pen with lukewarm water first so that the inks do not mix in the feed.

Is a medium nib the right choice?

A medium nib sits between fine (F) and broad (B). It writes cleanly on most papers and shows off the ink well. If you write very small or use absorbent paper, a finer nib is often the better choice.
