Rayher beading thread – strong thread for stringing and weaving

Rayher beading thread is a strong thread, 0.5 mm in diameter, for stringing beads and making jewellery such as necklaces and bracelets. According to Rayher, you can also use it to weave a seed bead bracelet, for example. It is made of 100% polyester. Choose your colour from the options.

The spool holds 100 m. This helps with planning quantities: measure the length you want for your piece of jewellery and allow extra for knots and the clasp.

Which beads suit it?

At 0.5 mm, the thread is fine enough for many beads. What matters is the bead hole: when stringing single beads, the thread must pass through easily. When weaving with seed beads, the thread passes through the same bead several times, so the hole needs a little more room. Try it on one bead before you start.

Method

Cut the thread generously, so that you have enough left at the end for knotting and sewing in. Do not pull the beads together too tightly, otherwise the piece of jewellery becomes stiff and the thread is put under more strain at the edges of the holes.
