Prym Kinder-Elastic in white – soft elastic for children's clothing

Prym Kinder-Elastic is a braided white elastic, 5 mm wide, for trousers, dresses and skirts in children's sizes. According to Prym, it is super soft and pliable, so the waistband sits comfortably and does not dig in.

The band is made of 57% polyester and 43% elastodiene and is certified to OEKO-TEX® Standard 100. The reel holds 5 m, enough for several waistbands or skirts. It withstands the normal wash cycle at 95 °C, so you can wash children's clothing at high temperatures too.

Using the elastic

Sew a casing for the waistband that is slightly wider than the elastic, leaving an opening on one side. Attach a safety pin to the end of the elastic and thread it through the casing. Then secure both ends with a few stitches so they cannot slip back. The narrow elastic suits fine fabrics and small sizes, and on trousers and skirts it stops the waistband from slipping.
