Lang Yarns Lace Lamé is a fine yarn for lace projects, shawls and lightweight knits with a subtle sheen. It is made of 55% mohair (Superkid), 30% silk, 8% polyester and 7% polyamide. An additional metallic thread is twisted in and gives your knitting a glittering shimmer. Choose your colour from the options.

One ball weighs 25 g and, according to the manufacturer, has a length of approx. 310 m, which works out at about 1,240 m per 100 g. In sport weight with needles from 3 to 3.5 mm, you knit airy, light fabric. The silk adds shine, while the mohair gives a soft, fluffy feel.

What to knit with Lace Lamé

Thanks to the fine mohair-silk blend, the stitches look light and flowing. The yarn suits shawls, stoles, lightweight jumpers and accessories where the metallic thread should add an accent. Mohair is fluffy and hard to unravel once knitted, so knit a swatch first before starting a larger project.

Quantity and tension

As a guide, the manufacturer gives approx. 100 g (4 balls) for a ladies' jumper size M and approx. 75 g (3 balls) for a child aged 10. The actual amount depends on the pattern. If possible, buy the full quantity in one go from the same dye lot. What matters is the tension given in your pattern; the figure on the ball band is only a guide (26 stitches and 40 rows over 10 × 10 cm).
