The natural-coloured pheasant feather is 40–50 cm long and suits crafting and decorating. It works well on carnival costumes, hats and other DIY projects where you want to make use of the feather's pattern and colour. Working with the feather

Feathers are easy to glue on or work into a ribbon. You can trim the 40–50 cm length with scissors if needed.

• For hats, tuck the quill under the hat band or glue it to the inside.
• For costumes and headpieces, fix the quill with a drop of hot glue or fabric glue to a headband or a strip of fabric.
• Several feathers of slightly different lengths look more lively as a group than pieces of the same length.
