The Gütermann Cotton 30 embroidery thread set in Multicolor 1 contains 5 reels with 300 m of 100 % mercerised cotton thread each. You can use it for machine quilting, sewing and machine embroidery, especially for embroidery motifs with a wool-like look.

The five reels have colour gradients that are matched to one another. Together you have 1,500 m of thread, enough to work several projects in one continuous colour scheme.

What the set is suited to

Cotton thread has a natural, rather matt look. That makes the set a good choice for projects that should look handmade and warm: quilts with visible quilting stitches, decorative stitches and seams, or accents on home textiles, accessories and clothing. It works best on cotton fabrics and blended fabrics. In embroidery, the thread gives motifs a wool-like look rather than a high-gloss finish. The set is available in three Multicolor combinations (1, 2 and 3); this one is Multicolor 1.

Working with the thread

Fit a universal needle in NM 80–90 and thread the reel as you would any other thread on your sewing, quilting or embroidery machine. With a colour gradient, the shade changes along the length of the thread, so the colour distribution in your work varies with stitch length and motif size. A test piece on a scrap of fabric shows you in advance how the stitch pattern, thread tension and colour changes look.
