Prym Omnigrid 4x14 inch Ruler – Transparent Grid Ruler for Cutting and Patchwork

The Prym Omnigrid universal grid ruler 4x14 inch (art. no. 611477) is a transparent plastic ruler with an inch grid print for patchwork, dressmaking and graphic work. It measures 4 × 14 inches, which is approx. 10.2 × 35.6 cm.

The yellow and black grid print allows accurate markings on light and dark fabrics. The laser print on the underside is scratch-resistant and is intended to avoid optical distortion. The ruler is made of thick, hard-wearing material and guides rotary cutters and craft knives safely along the edge.

Cutting accurately

Place the ruler with the desired grid line exactly on the fabric edge or the marking. Press it down with your flat hand close to the cutting edge and always guide the rotary cutter along the edge, away from you. Keep your fingers behind the edge of the ruler, and place the fabric on a cutting mat.

Which size to choose

The ruler belongs to a series with several inch sizes, including 4x8 and 6.5x24 inch. At 4 × 14 inches it is longer than the 4x8 ruler and suits strips and blocks of medium length. Very wide lengths of fabric are easier to cut with the larger ruler. The inch markings are particularly useful when your pattern is given in inches.
