Royal Talens Amsterdam Acrylic Paint Set General Selection, 48 × 20 ml

Amsterdam acrylic paint set with 48 colours – for canvas, paper and wood

The General Selection acrylic paint set from the Amsterdam Standard Series by Royal Talens contains 48 tubes of 20 ml, 0.96 l in total. You can paint on canvas, paper, card, wood, stone or concrete, with a wide palette to hand, from white through yellow, red, blue and green to earth tones and black.

The paints are based on 100 % acrylic binder and lightfast pigments. They have a medium viscosity, so brushstrokes and textures stay visible. The paint film dries satin-matt, stays flexible and is waterproof once dry. The water-based formula is odourless.

Which colours are in the set?

The set covers every colour range: zinc white and titanium white, several yellows and oranges, reds and pinks, violet, blue, turquoise, green and earth colours such as yellow ochre, sienna and umber. There are also warm and neutral greys and oxide black. The colours have different levels of opacity. Primary yellow, primary magenta and primary cyan are also included as mixing primaries, so you can mix further shades yourself.

Working with the paints

You can use the paint straight from the tube or thin it with water or acrylic painting medium. Undiluted, it goes on opaque with visible brushwork; thinned, it gives a more even, lighter application. According to the manufacturer, even thick layers stay flexible. Put only as much paint on the palette as you will use, and wash brushes out with water while the paint is still wet: dried acrylic can no longer be dissolved.
