Prym yellow glass-head pins – heat-resistant heads for pinning and pressing
Prym glass-head pins (art. no. 029153) with yellow heads are used for pinning fabric when sewing, dressmaking and patchwork. The round glass head is heat-resistant. You can therefore iron over pinned fabric without the heads becoming misshapen. The yellow heads are easy to see on many fabrics.
The shaft is made of hardened steel with a balanced spring hardness. The fine point passes easily through the fabric and is gentle on the fibres. At 43 mm long and 0.60 mm thick, the pins will also hold several layers of fabric together.
Pinning correctly
Insert the pins at right angles to the seam edge, so you can easily pull them out one by one as you sew. You should not sew over pins, as the machine needle may break. Leave the pins in when ironing: the glass heads withstand the heat.
Which pin should you choose?
These pins are just 0.60 mm thick. The range also includes a sturdier version measuring 0.80 × 48 mm in white. If you want to pin fine fabrics, the thinner pin is the better choice.
