Prym Stretch Sewing Machine Needles 130/705, Size 75 – for fine stretch fabrics

Prym Stretch 130/705 sewing machine needles in size 75 fit domestic sewing machines with a flat shank and are used for fine stretch fabrics such as jersey, Lycra or silk jersey. The pack contains 5 needles.

The medium ballpoint pushes the fibres aside instead of cutting through them, so it is gentle on delicate knitted fabric. The special scarf helps the needle pass the thread safely to the hook, so skipped stitches are less likely. You can use any standard thread.

When size 75 is the right choice

Size 75 is the finer of the two stretch sizes. Use it for light, thin knitted fabrics such as silk jersey, fine T-shirt fabric or Lycra. For heavier jersey qualities, choose a thicker needle; the Prym stretch needles are also available in size 90 and as an assortment with both sizes.

Inserting the needle

Switch off the machine and loosen the needle clamp screw. The flat side of the shank faces towards the back. Push the needle up as far as it will go and tighten the screw.

• Change the needle as soon as you get skipped stitches or threads start to snag, because a blunt needle damages fine knitted fabric.
• Check beforehand in your machine's manual whether it uses needle system 130/705.
