Prym jersey needles 70–90 – ballpoint for stretch fabrics

With Prym jersey sewing machine needles (art. no. 154232) you can sew stretch fabrics such as jersey, elastane fabrics and knitwear. The medium ballpoint tip pushes the fibres aside as you sew instead of piercing them. This keeps the fabric undamaged and helps you avoid ladders.

The flat shank (needle system 130/705) fits all common domestic sewing machines. The pack contains five needles in three sizes, so you have the right needle to hand for different fabric thicknesses.

Which size should you choose?

As a rule of thumb, the finer and thinner the fabric, the finer the needle. Size 70 suits fine jersey, 80 medium-weight fabrics and 90 thicker knitted fabrics. It is best to sew a test piece on an offcut of fabric.

When should you change the needle?

A ballpoint tip becomes blunt over time. If you get skipped stitches, the thread breaks or the fabric develops small holes, change the needle.
