Prym Tapestry Needles No. 20 – Blunt Tip for Gentle Stitching and Sewing in Wool Ends
The Prym tapestry needles No. 20 (art. no. 125556) are used for embroidery with wool and other thicker yarns. The rounded tip does not pierce the fibres but pushes them aside. The yarn is not split and the strands stay intact.
The eye is punched symmetrically and is free of burrs. It is suitably large for thicker yarns, so you can thread heavier strands more easily. The needles are made of hardened steel. One card contains 6 needles in size 20.
Using the needle
For stitching on coarse fabric or evenweave, guide the needle between the fabric threads without piercing them. When sewing in wool ends, pull the end of the yarn through the eye and run the needle along under the stitches on the wrong side. The blunt tip does not catch on the yarn.
Which size to choose
The number indicates the thickness of the needle: the higher the number, the finer the needle. No. 20 has a diameter of 1 mm. For other yarn thicknesses, this range also includes No. 18 and an assorted pack of No. 18–22.
