Prym glue stick – hold fabric and trims in place temporarily instead of pinning

The Prym glue stick (art. no. 987180) holds fabric, lace, appliqués, trims or zips in place temporarily before you sew them down. It is quicker than setting pins. The adhesive is solvent-free and odourless, and washes out completely after use without leaving any residue.

At your sewing table and at the sewing machine, the pieces stay exactly where you put them, and you do not have to work around pins that get in the way under the presser foot.

Basting with the glue stick

Apply a thin layer of glue to the back of the piece you want to fix, for example the seam allowance, the trim or the appliqué. Then press the piece onto the fabric and sew as usual. A thin layer is enough, because the stick only needs to hold until the seam is sewn. Try the stick on an offcut first with delicate or dark fabrics. Close it again after use so that it does not dry out.

What the stick is for

The glue stick is for temporary basting and does not replace a seam. The thread provides the lasting hold. The adhesive washes out completely after use. It is not intended for applications where pieces are only meant to be glued permanently.
