Prym Leather Tape – Double-Sided Tape for Invisibly Shortening Leather

Prym leather tape (art. no. 987200) is a strong, double-sided adhesive tape for shortening leather garments such as leather coats, trousers or skirts. Where a seam would spoil the look of the leather, the bonded join stays invisible. It can be separated again without difficulty if you need to make alterations later.

You can also use the sturdy tape for other crafts with leather or similar materials. It is 12 mm wide and 5 m long.

How to shorten leather without sewing

With leather, every needle puncture leaves a permanent hole. The tape avoids this: you glue the hem instead of sewing it. Measure the hem circumference beforehand so that you plan for the 5 m length correctly. Stick the tape to the inside of the leather along the hem edge, peel off the protective film, fold up the hem and press the join down firmly. The surface should be clean, dry and free of grease. Test the tape first on an offcut or a concealed area to check that the adhesion and appearance suit your leather.
