Crimping pliers with recesses for crimp beads from 2.0 to 5.0 mm

These pliers close crimp beads neatly, for example at the end of beaded necklaces and bracelets made with jewellery wire. The tip has small recesses. They hold the crimp bead securely and press it into shape without it slipping away. The pliers work with crimp beads from 2.0 to 5.0 mm.

How to close a crimp bead

Thread the crimp bead onto the jewellery wire, pass the wire through the loop of the clasp and back through the bead. Slide the bead close to the clasp so that only a small loop remains. Then place the bead in the recesses at the tip of the pliers and squeeze the handles firmly together. Next, give the wire a gentle tug: if the bead holds, the connection is secure. If it slips, take a new crimp bead and squeeze it harder. It is important that the bead matches the wire thickness, as beads that are too large hold poorly.
