Hardicraft Knitting Kit Freek the Elephant – knit your own amigurumi elephant in dungarees

The Hardicraft knitting kit Freek the Elephant contains yarn, toy stuffing, safety eyes and a pattern for a knitted amigurumi elephant in dungarees. Only the knitting needles are needed in addition. Once finished, Freek stands approx. 27 cm tall.

The pattern is by the designer Christel Krukkert. Freek is part of a series of four knitting kits with clothes, which according to Hardicraft also includes Frida, John and Chloe.

What is included in the kit

Hardicraft supplies everything you need for the figure itself. The two marl yarns in grey and blue are intended for the elephant and his dungarees, and with 50 g of each you can divide the quantities easily.

Making Freek

First knit the individual pieces following the pattern and insert the safety eyes before you sew the pieces together and stuff them, as you won't be able to reach the back afterwards. Add the stuffing in small portions, including in the trunk and legs. This gives the figure an even shape and leaves no dents. A tension swatch beforehand shows you whether your stitches will be even and firm enough with the needle size given in the pattern.
