Hardicraft Blue Bird Crochet Kit – crochet your own little amigurumi bird

With the Hardicraft Blue Bird crochet kit, you crochet a little amigurumi bird approx. 10 cm tall. The kit contains cotton yarn, toy stuffing, safety eyes and a pattern, so all you need besides is a crochet hook and scissors.

The design is by Christel Krukkert for Hardicraft. The kit comes in three colours (blue, yellow, red). The pattern is included in German, English and Dutch; there is no French version.

Crocheting the bird

Amigurumi are usually crocheted in spiral rounds. A 2.5 mm crochet hook is intended for this yarn and gives a firm fabric, so that as little stuffing as possible shows through. Insert the safety eyes before you stuff and close the bird, as you will not be able to reach the back of the eyes afterwards. Check that they are firmly in place. Stuff only when the opening is almost closed, so that the shape is even.
