Schmincke HORADAM watercolour colour chart – 140 shades (dot card)

Schmincke HORADAM watercolour dot card – all 140 colours to try out

The Schmincke colour chart shows all 140 shades of the HORADAM watercolour range as small, labelled colour dots. You activate each dot with a wet watercolour brush and test the colour before you buy it.

This way you see the colours not just as a printed or on-screen approximation, but as real watercolour paint, and you can put together your selection with care.

Testing the colours

Dab a wet watercolour brush onto the dot you want until the colour dissolves, then apply it to paper. It is best to test the colour on the paper you plan to use later. That way you can see how strong it looks and how it dilutes with water. Rinse the brush thoroughly between colours so the shades do not mix.

What the chart is for

The chart helps you choose: you see all the shades side by side and decide which ones you really need. HORADAM watercolour is also available in the range as single colours in 5 ml tubes and in various sets. The colour chart is not a paint set in itself, but a sample for testing and comparing.
