Talens Ecoline in the 490 ml bottle is a liquid watercolour paint from Royal Talens for illustration, fashion design, design work, calligraphy and fine art. Working with Ecoline

Ecoline can be mixed with water and a brush and is also suitable for wet-on-wet techniques. The more water you add, the lighter the glaze becomes. According to the manufacturer, the paint adheres well to watercolour paper, drawing paper and card. As the shades are transparent, they look best on white or very pale paper. Ecoline does not dry waterproof: you can rewet dried paint and carry on working on a piece you have begun. When painting over dry layers, the colour underneath may dissolve, so use little water and a light stroke there.

Which colour for what?

The transparent shades suit glazes and colour gradients where the colour of the paper shows through. The white is opaque and helps you add accents or lighten shades. To store finished work, Royal Talens recommends a portfolio so that the colour is preserved.
