Crimp beads 3.0 x 2.0 mm – for securing jewellery wire and nylon thread

These Ø 3.0 x 2.0 mm crimp beads are small, tube-shaped metal beads for securing jewellery wire, nylon thread or cord. You squeeze them closed with crimping pliers. Use them to fix clasps in place, hold beads where you want them or repair jewellery. You get 100 pieces. Choose your colour from the options.

The beads come in 4 colours, so you can match them to your wire, clasp and beads. Of the crimp beads in this series, which range from 1.5 to 3.0 mm, this is the largest size. It suits a slightly thicker wire or thread.

How to attach a crimp bead

Before you start, check that your wire or thread passes through the bead twice. Then proceed as follows:

• Thread on the crimp bead and pass the end of the wire through the loop of the clasp.
• Pass the end of the wire back through the bead so that a small loop forms.
• Slide the bead up close to the loop and squeeze it firmly with the crimping pliers.
• Trim the protruding end of the wire with side cutters.

Choosing the right size

Choose the size to suit your wire: the bead should grip the wire firmly when crimped, but it should be possible to thread it on without force. For finer threads and delicate designs, the smaller sizes in the series are more suitable. For repairs, you can order several colours and pick the one that matches the piece of jewellery.
