Rayher starter set in silver – findings for necklaces and bracelets

The Rayher jewellery making starter set in silver contains the key clasps and connecting parts you need to make your own necklaces and bracelets: 2 × 3 m jewellery wire, 10 lobster clasps, 50 crimp beads, 20 crimp covers and 20 jump rings. The wire is stainless steel and the other parts are brass. Everything is sorted in a plastic box with 6 compartments, so you have the small parts to hand while you work and can put them straight back afterwards.

According to Rayher, the set is suitable for trying out jewellery making. You only need to add beads, which you thread on to your own taste. With 6 m of wire in two lengths and 10 clasps, you can make several pieces of jewellery before you need to restock. The set is also available in gold and copper.

Using the parts

Cut a length of wire a little longer than the finished length you want and thread on your beads. Then secure the clasp: pass the wire through a crimp bead and through the loop of the lobster clasp, then back through the crimp bead, and squeeze it firmly closed with pliers. Then tuck the end of the wire into the next few beads. The crimp covers enclose the crimped bead and give the end a neat finish. The jump rings connect the clasp and the other parts of the piece.

How far does the set go?

The quantity is designed for several necklaces or bracelets. Crimp beads and clasps are sorted separately in the box, so you do not have to search for long. The parts are silver-coloured and so go well with beads in cool shades. If you are planning a lot of pieces, you should get extra beads and, if needed, jewellery glue.
