Rayher Renaissance wax-coated glass beads are glass-core beads with 7 coats of wax. At 4.0 mm in diameter, they suit fine jewellery, sewing on and small bead figures such as angels and stars. One tin holds 85 beads, so you can easily estimate how many you need.

The beads are waxed 7 times and lacquered twice. According to Rayher, they are lightfast, sweat-resistant and abrasion-resistant. These are useful properties for bracelets and necklaces that you wear often. Choose your colour from the options.

Working with the beads and choosing the right size

For threading, use a thread or wire that fits through the bead hole. It is best to test this on a single bead before you thread a whole necklace. To sew them on, pass the needle and thread straight through the bead and stitch it down piece by piece. Clean finished items by hand only, at 30 °C.

Which size should you choose?

At 4.0 mm, these beads are among the smaller sizes in the Renaissance series, which ranges from 3 mm to 12 mm. They are suitable for delicate necklaces and details. If you want the beads to stand out more as a focal point, choose a larger diameter.
