da Vinci Manolino therapeutic brush, round & flat

da Vinci Manolino – therapeutic brush with palmar grip

The da Vinci Manolino is a therapeutic brush for anyone who prefers the so-called palmar grip, or who needs support with finger coordination and controlling pressure when painting. It was developed for toddlers, older people and people with disabilities, and suits therapeutic work as well as hobby and school use. Choose the shape (round or flat) from the options.

The handle is flattened on one side, so the brush sits securely in the hand and does not roll off the table. The synthetic fibres are elastic and very hard-wearing; they keep their shape even under heavy use and do not shed. The brush is vegan and made in Germany.

Round or flat – which shape suits you?

Use the round shape with its point for lines, outlines and smaller details. The flat shape covers broader areas and suits even blocks of colour. If you mainly use the brush for free experimentation and larger pictures, the flat shape often lets you work faster; for more precise work the round shape is the better choice.

Painting with the palmar grip

With the palmar grip, the brush is held in the whole hand rather than between thumb and forefinger. The flattened handle gives the hand a firm rest and stops the brush rolling away when you put it down. The synthetic fibres can be used with acrylic, watercolour, gouache and ink, and allow precise strokes.
