YKK metal trouser zip – 8 cm, closed-end

The YKK trouser zip with metal teeth closes short openings in trousers and is also suitable for pockets. It is closed-end, with a closing length of 8 cm. The teeth are silver-coloured, and the chain is approx. 0.4 cm wide when closed. Choose your colour from the options for the tape.

At 8 cm it fits shorter openings, for example on slimmer cuts, low-rise trousers or children's trousers. Closed-end means the bottom end is fixed and the slider cannot be pulled right off the chain. This is usual for trouser and pocket zips.

Inserting the zip

Measure the length of your opening before buying: the figure of 8 cm refers to the closing length, that is, the row of teeth. Pin the zip evenly beside the edge of the opening and sew it in with a zip foot.

• Do not sew over the metal teeth, as the needle may break.
• Sew slowly, especially at the end of the row of teeth.
• Check that the slider runs smoothly before closing the seam.
