Prym Omnigrid Universal Ruler 15 x 60 cm – long patchwork ruler with angle markings

With the Prym Omnigrid universal ruler 15 x 60 cm (art. no. 611308) you can measure and cut fabric, for example for patchwork and quilting, dressmaking or graphic work. At 60 cm long, it lets you make long cuts in one pass, such as for strips or lengths of fabric.

The yellow/black grid print gives accurate markings on both light and dark fabrics. The scratch-resistant laser print is on the underside of the ruler and rules out optical distortion. The thick, hard-wearing material guides rotary cutters and pull knives safely.

Cutting with the ruler

Place the ruler with the right grid line along the edge of the fabric or along an edge you have already cut straight, and press it down firmly with your flat hand. Always run the rotary cutter away from your body along the edge of the ruler, and keep the fingers of your holding hand behind the cutting line. The 30°, 45° and 60° angle markings let you cut triangles, diamonds and bias strips. Because the lines are printed on the underside of the ruler, they lie directly on the fabric.

Which size to choose

At 15 cm wide and 60 cm long, the ruler also sits across wide pieces of fabric, and you can cut long strips without repositioning it. For small cuts and for taking to classes, a shorter format is more practical. The universal ruler is also available in the series in 15 × 30 cm and 10 × 45 cm.
