Prym Transparent-Elastic 10 mm – clear elastic for bra straps and lingerie

Prym Transparent-Elastic (art. no. 910700) is a clear, stretchy elastic, 10 mm wide, on a card with 3 m. You can use it to sew your own bra straps or to add clear straps to tops and lingerie. The elastic is sturdy yet flexible.

You can also thread it into thin, sheer fabrics or topstitch it to gather fabric. The elastic is certified to OEKO-TEX® Standard 100.

Using the elastic

For bra straps, measure the length against an existing strap. Sew the elastic on with a stretch stitch, such as zigzag, so that the seam does not break when stretched. To thread it through, sew a channel into the fabric and pull the elastic through with a safety pin. To gather, topstitch the slightly stretched elastic onto the fabric: as it relaxes, the fabric draws together. A test on a fabric scrap shows you beforehand how much gathering you will get.
