Rayher elastic thread 1 mm – stretch cord for bracelets and craft projects

The Rayher elastic thread, 1 mm in diameter, is a round, stretchy thread for sewing and crafts. You get 5 m on a card, enough for several bracelets. Choose your colour from the options.

It is particularly handy for beaded bracelets: because the thread gives, the finished pieces can be slipped on and off without a clasp. You can also use it to adjust the size of textile projects.

Stringing a bracelet

First measure your wrist and cut the thread with plenty of extra length so you can knot it comfortably. Thread on the beads and tie the ends with a double knot. Pull the knot tight before trimming the loose ends. Do not cut them too short, otherwise the knot may come undone.

Choosing your beads

The thread is 1 mm thick and, if needed, has to pass through the bead more than once, for example when knotting or reinforcing. Before buying larger quantities of beads, check the hole size.
