Elastic Band: washable, latex-free elastic for face masks
Elastic Band is a white, latex-free elastic sold by the metre, cut to length. It is made of 90 % polyester and 10 % elastane and can be washed at 60 °C. This makes it a good choice for the ear loops of fabric masks that you want to wash hot on a regular basis.
The elastic has a stretch of 100 % (+/- 10 %). It is made in the EU.
Using the elastic
The length of the ear loops depends on the pattern of the mask. Measure them according to your pattern before cutting. Sew the ends firmly into the sides of the mask or tie them in a knot. As the elastic is washable at up to 60 °C, you can wash the finished mask hot, elastic included.
