Prym Super-Elastic black – stretchy elastic, 7 mm wide

Prym Super-Elastic is a black elastic, 7 mm wide, with very high stretch. It is hard-wearing yet soft, so it suits all kinds of sewing, for example cuffs, waistbands or sleeve edges. The 50 m reel is handy if you use elastic often or are planning several projects.

The elastic is made of 59 % polyester and 41 % elastodiene. It is washable at 95 °C and tumble dryer safe, so it also suits clothing that goes in the machine often.

Using the elastic

For a casing, thread the elastic through the hem with a bodkin or a safety pin. Hold one end firmly so that it does not disappear into the casing. Sew the ends together, overlapping them, with a zigzag or straight stitch before closing the opening. If the elastic is to be sewn on directly, stretch it evenly as you sew so that the fabric forms small gathers later.
