Clover Non-Slip Thimble, large – finger protection with rubber and metal cap
The Clover Non-Slip Thimble, large (art. no. 6027) protects your fingertip when hand sewing, as you push the needle through the fabric. It is made of soft, finger-friendly rubber with a dimpled metal cap, which you can press down firmly without risk.
According to Clover, the ridged shape provides good ventilation. Only a small area touches your finger, so your finger sweats less underneath. According to Clover, the thimble is 50 to 80% lighter than a metal thimble and is less of a nuisance when sewing for longer periods.
Is the large thimble the right size?
What matters is the inner diameter of 17 mm. The thimble should fit snugly without cutting off circulation and should not turn while you sew. The range also includes small (art. no. 6025) and medium (art. no. 6026). Try the size on the finger you use to push the needle.
How to use it
Put the thimble on the finger that pushes the needle through the fabric; for many people this is the middle finger. Place the end of the needle on the dimpled metal cap and push the needle through. The dimples hold the end of the needle, and the rubber keeps the thimble on your finger.
