Hardicraft Girl May knitting kit – knit an amigurumi doll with her own outfit

The Girl May knitting kit from Hardicraft lets you knit an amigurumi doll about 30 cm tall. It was designed by Christel Krukkert. The kit contains the pattern, cotton yarn and the materials you need: four balls of yarn in matching colours, toy stuffing and safety eyes. Knitting needles are not included.

The doll's outfit and socks are removable. You can swap them with the clothes of her friends June and April. If you knit several dolls from the series, the kit becomes a small collection with an interchangeable wardrobe.

Making the doll

You knit with 3 mm needles, which you will need to buy separately. The pattern takes you through the project step by step and is also suitable for beginners. Insert the safety eyes before you stuff the head, as they cannot be secured from the inside afterwards. Use the toy stuffing to shape the doll evenly. Add it in small portions and the doll will be firm and free of dents.

Choosing between Girl May, June and April

Girl May is one of three dolls with interchangeable clothes. According to the manufacturer, the outfit and socks are removable and also fit June and April. Girl June is a separate kit with its own article number. When buying, make sure you choose the doll you want to knit.

Yarn and materials

The yarn is 100% cotton. Cotton has little stretch and works well for firm amigurumi shapes.
