With the Chris Flamingo knitting kit from Hardicraft you knit an amigurumi flamingo about 37 cm tall. The kit contains a pattern, marl yarn in pink, light pink and black, toy stuffing and safety eyes. According to the manufacturer, you need nothing other than knitting needles to get started.

The design is by Christel Krukkert. As all the materials are in the kit, you don't have to put together the yarn quantities and colours yourself. That is handy if you would like to try an amigurumi project.

Knitting the flamingo

The exact order of work is given in the pattern included in the kit. As a general rule for amigurumi, fit the safety eyes before you stuff and close the animal, as they cannot be attached afterwards. Add the toy stuffing in small portions and shape it as you go so that the neck and body come out evenly. If you knit the yarn fairly tightly on 3 mm needles, the stuffing shows through less. What matters is the tension given in your pattern.

All the materials are included in the kit; you only need to supply the knitting needles yourself. The yarn comes in three colours: pink (50 g) and light pink (25 g) for the body and details, and black (5 m) for small accents.
