HardiCraft Fire Engine Crochet Kit – Crochet an Amigurumi Fire Engine in Cotton Yarn

With the HardiCraft fire engine crochet kit you crochet a small fire engine in amigurumi style. The design is by Christel Krukkert. According to the manufacturer, the finished engine is approx. 16 cm high and 12 cm long.

The kit contains all the materials except the crochet hook: cotton yarn in four colours (red 50 g, white 25 g, black 25 g, blue 10 g), toy stuffing and instructions in German. As the yarn quantities are matched to the model, you do not need to buy anything extra or hunt for leftover yarn in the right colours. The yarn is 100% cotton.

Crocheting the fire engine

Amigurumi are usually crocheted fairly tightly so that the stuffing does not show through the stitches. For this, use a 2.5 mm crochet hook and follow the details in the instructions. Stuff the individual parts only once they are fully crocheted, then join them as described in the instructions. Once the pieces are assembled, you can use any leftovers for details, so even the small amounts of yarn are put to good use.
