Lang Yarns Cashmerino for Babies and more is a soft knitting yarn for jumpers, baby cardigans, hats and other knitted items. It is made from 55% merino wool (extra fine), 12% cashmere and 33% acrylic. According to the manufacturer, it is a blend of extra-fine cashmere and merino, combined with microfibres. Choose your colour from the options.

Each ball weighs 50 g and has a length of approx. 125 m. This makes it easy to work out the quantity for your project: divide the yarn requirements in your pattern, given in metres, by 125 and round up to whole balls. The name "for Babies and more" points to baby clothing and other knitted items as the intended use; the manufacturer gives no age recommendation for it.

Tension and quantities

With 3–3.5 mm needles, the ball band gives a tension of 25 stitches × 34 rows over 10 × 10 cm. What matters is the tension given in your pattern; the figure on the ball band is only a guide. The quantity needed depends greatly on the design. As a rough guide, allow about 600 g for a men's jumper in size M, about 450 g for a women's jumper in size M and about 300 g for a child's jumper (10 years).

Care

Wash the yarn with a wool detergent and do not use fabric softener. Fabric softener coats the fibres, which is not wanted with wool and cashmere. Also follow the care symbols on the ball band.
