Gütermann C Ne 50 cotton thread (art. no. 744484) is a sewing thread made from 100 % mercerised cotton. According to Gütermann, it is suitable for all fabrics and weaves, with quilts, patchwork, decorative stitching, decorative seams, and construction seams and topstitching named as uses. One reel contains 100 m.

Mercerised means the cotton is treated with caustic soda. According to the manufacturer, this increases strength and colourfastness, and gives the thread a soft, natural sheen. According to Gütermann, the thread is available in 240 colours. Choose your colour from the options.

Uses for the thread

Cotton thread works well with cotton fabrics, as thread and fabric are made of the same material. For quilts and patchwork, you use it to quilt the layers together, and for decorative stitching and decorative seams you can make use of the soft sheen of mercerised cotton.
